How 'Yogi Bear' should have ended

By now, you should all know how I feel about the new Yogi Bear movie that opens in theaters this Friday. If you've been reading this site for any amount of time, you can guess how much I despise yet another attempt to destroy my youth by exploiting something that should stay there.

Yogi Bear is such a bad idea that I'm sure it'll probably go on to make over $100 million making an endless string of sequels a foregone conclusion. While I sit here and ponder the inevitable demise of such a great comedian that was Dan Aykroyd, I can take solace in this new viral video that is burning up the Internet today.

With its origin shrouded in secrecy like any good conspiracy, this clip made its way onto YouTube on the account of user "estefez." A quick search of his YouTube channel leads one to suspect that the clip is the work of one Edmund Earle (his site), a computer CGI animator who may or may not have been working on the movie at some point.

The clip speaks for itself and will most likely be the closest I ever come to watching Yogi Bear. Of course, if the movie were to truly end on this dark note, I might have occasion to go see it.

Anyone who has seen the movie The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, will immediately recognize the music, dialog and shot for shot remake of the climatic scene. Personally, I feel that The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford was a great movie that was sadly overlooked by the movie-going public as a whole.

For those of you who haven't seen the movie, here's the clip in question. I'd go ahead and put in a SPOILER ALERT for this, but anyone whose read a history book or the title for that matter is already spoiled. You would think they would have titled the movie something like this, The Assassination of Jesse James by [SPOILER ALERT!!] the Coward Robert Ford wouldn't you?

What did you think of the new take on the ending?
