No Megan Fox this time. DARN!

I know that we've been posting trailers in our weekly trailer round-ups, but sometimes a trailer release takes such precedence that we have to write about it specifically, in the moment. Either it's such a compelling trailer that we know that you want to be first to see it or it's very existence is newsworthy.

Sadly, this one is more of the latter variety and not in a good way. It seems that Michael Bay is not only destroying our collective childhood and its magnificent toys with his Transformers movies, but now he's literally re-writing the history books. In the first look at the third installment, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Bay is seemingly intimating that the entire Apollo 11 moon landing was nothing more that ruse to cover up our investigation of a crashed Transformers transport craft on the moon.

Don't believe me? Check out the trailer below or in HD over at Apple. What's sad is not only does it take some big cajones to try and pull off that little historical retcon, but half of the young people will probably buy into it as Gospel truth of actual events.

It's never a good idea to blur reality and make believe in the twitter/facebook generation. As long as Wikipedia agrees, that's good enough for us.

So given all of that, why post this trailer? Well, it gives me a great excuse to post this hot little pic of Megan Fox from Transformers. Sadly though, she didn't make the cut this time out. But that's a whole other story.

Let us know what you think. Meanwhile, Transformers: Dark of the Moon will invade theaters and launch its attack on history books on July 1, 2011.
