I have an obsession and I don't think I'm alone. That obsession is the one and only Natalie Portman. And while my obsession doesn't reach the John Hinckley, Jr. level of obsession, I will admit to actually paying out hard-earned money to see Anywhere But Here and The Other Boleyn Girl in theaters.

Yeah, it's that bad.

So, when I saw the trailer for her latest movie, a romantic comedy collaboration with Ashton Kutcher called No Strings Attached, I knew I'd be lining up again to be among the first to see it. Nat, you had me at "Why can't we just have sex?"

The trailer is embedded down below and is directed by Ivan Reitman who is seemingly biding his time until Bill Murray gives his final approval to Ghostbusters 3. But, Reitman has a winning track record and Portman is seemingly at home playing a liberated woman who is a bit of a commitment-phobe and quite content to enjoy a healthy sex life without the emotional component.

In a reversal of traditional gender stereotypes, Kutcher's character is seemingly the one looking for more than a cheap fling which I'm sure will cause predictable waves in their friendship/relationship before a satisfactory resolution of their strife. With persistent allegations of infidelity popping up in his real life relationship with Demi Moore, this movie might help to smooth over Kutcher's image with fans. Ashton Kutcher has vehemently denied all of the allegations, but one has to wonder if the allegations themselves will affect the performance of No Strings Attached.

No Strings Attached is set to premiere in theaters on January 21, 2011, just in time for Valentine's Day.

Now, that you've seen the trailer, is it just me or is it basically an infomercial for the Apple iPhone? Speaking of odd, what's up with the carrots in the still from the movie below? Give us your best caption and we'll post some of the better ones in a day or two.
