Honest Abe To Get The Spielberg Treatment?

The man who brought dinosaurs back to life appears to be on track to do the same thing with the 16th President of the United States. Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks Pictures has acquired the film rights to an unpublished biography on Abraham Lincoln.

The project is slated to focus on Lincoln's White House years, ending with his assassination at the Ford Theater. No word yet on casting, although you can bet that Spielberg favorite Tom Cruise is out of the running (Lincoln was well-known for his height coming in at well over six foot, while Cruise comes it at a measly 5'7"). Ah, to be tall, skinny and bearded, life would be grand right about now...
