Action heavyweights (or has-beens?) in new 'Expendables' trailer

Lionsgate has released the official trailer for The Expendables on Yahoo! Movies. The flick, coming to theaters in August, features a bevy of action stars including Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Randy Couture, and Steve Austin.

They're a ragtag group of mercenaries hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its dictator. Kinda like The A-Team. Stallone wrote and directed the film.

As you can see in the trailer, the movie features some notable cameos including Bruce Willis and the governor of California.

I am really curious what the reaction to this movie will be; I don't know what to expect. I see the flick as a desperate attempt to resurrect some old action mainstays. None of these guys (save Statham, perhaps) would have much success these days in a solo movie.

Put them together and you just might have something watchable. Or, it could just look like a steroid-infused commercial for Viagra.
