Rank this year's 10 Best Picture nominees on Oscar.com

It's pretty clear that I love lists. I love making them and I love reading them. The subject of the list doesn't even matter. If there's a list of the "Top 10 Ways to spell 'Jennifer'," you better believe I'm going to see if 'Jenipher' pulls down the top spot.

Of course when the Oscars announced they were allowing people to post their very own Top 10 lists, I had to check it out. On Oscar.com you can view fan favorites or create your own. Four categories are currently up for grabs: This Year's Best Picture Nominees, Favorite Best Picture Winners of the '70s, Favorite Chase Scenes, and Favorite Red Carpet Dress.

Once you create a list, you can share it with your friends via the usual social networks: Twitter, Facebook... oh yeah, and email.

The interactive feature is an inspired way to showcase the big change for this year's Oscars. Ten films have been nominated for Best Picture rather than the typical set of five.

At the time of this posting, this was the collective order of all fan selections. It's a very interesting order to say the least.

  1. Inglourious Basterds
  2. Up
  3. The Hurt Locker
  4. Up in the Air
  5. Avatar
  6. District 9
  7. Precious
  8. The Blind Side
  9. A Serious Man
  10. An Education

While the Academy itself won't be presenting or publishing a top 10 list (wouldn't it be cool if they did?) you can do so right now. The only thing I'm left wondering is if they'll announce the order of the fan favorites at this year's ceremony on March 7.
