'Cop Out's red band trailer finally brings the funny

I'll be honest with you.

When I saw the original green band trailer for Cop Out, I wasn't overly impressed. No, forget that, I said I would be honest, I was literally afraid that the movie would have a more chilling effect on Kevin Smith's career than Mallrats.

And that's a strong statement.

So, it was with a bit of trepidation that I clicked on the red band trailer last week. I mean surely the man that perfected the dick, fart and weed jokes would be able to provide a top-notch red band trailer, right? Right?

Now, granted this is the first movie he's directed in which he didn't also write, so there's always an out. Thankfully, I can report that Cop Out doesn't need an out.

I know it's a bit late, but since I was off and this trailer will rock you guaranteed*, I thought I would share the humor.

Again, this trailer is red band and does have an age gate on it. They intend for an audience of adults to see it so, if adult language (specifically of a sexual nature) or a child being served some "justice" by an adult cop bothers you, then please don't watch the trailer.

Tell us what you think! Cop Out, which is currently in heavy commercial rotation on every channel known to man, hits theaters on February 26.

* You know that I can't guarantee that anything will "rock you" any more than I could ever truly define what "rock you" is. Also, it is possible that trailer will "roll you." If this is the case I reserve the right to claim that "rock you" and "roll you" are synonymous. I also reserve the right that you may have been born without a funny bone and no amount of rockness would ever truly "rock you." Whatever the case may be, if you couldn't figure it out by now, my claim of "guaranteed" above was made in jest in a sarcastic manner. In other words, smile. Life's too short not to laugh.
