This Tuesday millions of Losties (myself included) will huddle around their TV sets and begin the final, uninterrupted journey of our favorite air travel-impaired characters. Lost debuted on September 22, 2004 and we were hooked ever since.

The TV phenomenon literally changed the way people watch television and while their formula has been imitated often, its success has never been duplicated. And when the final season completes its run in May, die hard fans won't have to wait long to complete their DVD and/or Blu-ray collections.

Disney is releasing Lost: The Complete Sixth Season on DVD and Blu-ray on August 24 with a suggested retail price of $59.99 (DVD) and $79.99 (Blu-ray). On that same day, they are also releasing a comprehensive Lost: The Complete Collection, which offers the entire series on both DVD ($229.99 SRP) and Blu-ray ($279.99 SRP).

Both offerings will naturally be loaded with extras. Here is a preliminary breakdown, but I'm sure these will be augmented and spelled out in more detail as August approaches:

Lost: The Complete Sixth Season

  • Original scripted content that goes deeper into some of the stories, exclusive to Blu-ray and DVD produced by Damon Lindeloff and Carlton Cuse
  • LOST Bloopers & Deleted Scenes
  • LOST on Location - Go behind-the-scenes and get the stories from the set, on location in Hawaii from the actors and crew who make it happen.
  • Crafting A Final Season - Investigation into the goals and expectations of the season through interviews with writers, producers, cast, and crew
  • Audio Commentaries
  • LOST University (BD Exclusive, powered by BD-Live)
  • And MUCH More!

Lost: The Complete Collection

  • Contains over 30 hrs of bonus from Season 1-6
  • One full disc of bonus exclusive to the Complete Collection
  • At least two hours of content

Of course if you can't make it until Tuesday for the last season to begin, I offer you this hilarious look at some of the potential questions we will get "Answers" to this year. Let us know what you think about Lost and whether you'll be getting the amazing Lost: The Complete Collection.
