'Monsters Inc. 2' coming in 2013?

Some strong rumors are indicating a return trip to Monstropolis for Pixar. Furthermore, interesting investigative work by a Pixar blog have dated Monsters Inc. 2 for a 2013 release.

Via Slash Film, we see that Pixar added an untitled sequel to its list of upcoming projects at the recent Licensing International Expo. This fueled the flames for an already discussed follow-up to the 2001 movie.

In January, The Pixar Blog received visitors to their site after a Google search of 'monster 2013 pixar'. That may not seem like such a big deal but, the blog discovered the search came (gasp!) from within Pixar. Could this be an insider looking for leaked information?

Monsters Inc. writer and director Pete Docter has done pretty well with his follow-up feature. Up has already made $137 million in just 10 days. At last year's Comic-Con, Docter admitted that they've thought about a Monsters sequel saying, "We've got a couple ideas."

Pixar has Toy Story 3 coming next year. They have Cars 2, The Bear and the Bow and Newt on the slate for 2011 and 2012. Andrew Stanton's John Carter of Mars plays in there some time as well. All this makes a 2013 date for Monsters Inc. 2 very logical.
