Director David Fincher's Academy Award-winning film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is coming to DVD and Blu-ray on May 5. Not only that, but it's also getting a special Criterion Collection release.

The film won Oscar trophies in the Visual Effects, Art Direction, and Makeup categories. It was nominated for another 10 Academy Awards including Best Picture, Directing, and for Brad Pitt and Taraji P. Henson's performances.

Benji Button (the name I like to call it) will be available in a single-disc DVD version. It will also be released in two-disc Criterion Collection editions for DVD and Blu-ray. Criterion is known for creating definitive DVD and Blu-ray editions of classic films. Over three hours of special features will be on the Criterion release.

Also, Paramount Home Entertainment announced dates for two other Oscar favorites, Revolutionary Road starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio and Defiance starring Daniel Craig. These films will have their DVD/Blu-ray releases on June 2.

In related news, Criterion announced releases of film classics The Seventh Seal, Last Year At Marienbad, and My Dinner with Andre as well as the filmmaker doc Bergman Island.
