We've all heard the saying that life imitates art. Of course, the reverse is also true and the latest example of this seems to be taking the form of cinematic masterpieces (and not so masterful pieces of "art") being turned into t-shirts.

Someone wake up Doc Brown and tell him to fire up the DeLorean (that might be a little foreshadowing for those of you playing along at home) because it seems that we've been transported to the mid 1980s. You know, when it was totally tubular to be caught dead wearing an "I'm with Stupid -->" or "My friend went to X and all I got was this lousy t-shirt" shirt.

The latest round of t-shirts pay homage to some classic films and some newer hits. The t-shirts range from the obscure that only a die hard fan of the movie will get to the obvious which usually entails a choice line of dialog on a rainbow of fruit flavors in cotton mesh.

Well, we've been noticing them for awhile and we thought it was time for us to rank our favorites. In order to make it a little more challenging for you, we're not going to come right out and list the movie from which these t-shirts originate from.

It's time to prove your uber geek cred. Simply click on the pictures to see if your guess is right.

15. This western yarn really wasn't really set in an old time soda shoppe, but that didn't stop this catch-phrase from showing up in a wide array of designs.

14. If ever you're in Hawaii and in need of an organ, be sure to look up this t-shirt's namesake. He'll help you out fo' shizzle.

13. If you're planning to walk down the proverbial aisle anytime soon, you might want to hire some extra security to handle these dudes.

12. Are you too good for your home? If so and you step out, you might want to greet Bob Barker into retirement wearing this number.

11. As the shirt, the band and this placement says: it goes all the way up to 11.

10. It's time to relive all those Enchantment Under the Sea memories before the big storm hits.

9. If you don't read too good, this school is for you. Just be careful to avoid the recess game of dousing each other with gasoline.

8. Party on! After a decade of silence this duo finally returned to the airwaves of Aurora Illinois public access television.

7. These little guys walked the "long road" for three grueling movies before retiring to a life of never-ending movie endings.

Bonus points out there for anyone who guessed this modern screen gem as an alternate answer for number seven above.

6. Sadly, we didn't find any emu shirts out there, but given that it is an election year, it's about time someone called into question Pedro's qualifications.

5. You don't mess with the news team in this southern California city. They're liable to break out into a gang fight on you at any time.

4. Soon, these two funnymen will be reunited on the big screen as almost siblings. But first they got a few practice laps in this movie.

3. This shirt is both excellent and bogus at the same time depending on how you look at it. Personally, I'm holding out for a Wyld Stallyns tour shirt.

2. These guys take higher education to a whole new level and these shirts are approved by Frank the Tank.

1. Maybe it's my penchant for Cedar Point or the fact that I can't get enough of "fat man in a little coat." Whatever the case, this shirt took our top honors.

This might be sheer coincidence, but Will Ferrell starred in a third of the movies in our list and three of the top five. I guess it's safe to say that if he's in it, there's a t-shirt out there to prove it.

What do you think? Did we nail this list or did we completely leave off your personal favorite movie-inspired t-shirt? Let us know how we did and tell us which shirts we missed.
