First look at 2008's 'Speed Racer' movie

USA Today has the first look at the Wachowski Brothers(?) live-action adaptation of the '60s Japanese cartoon import. The Wachowskis are most famous for their creation of The Matrix universe.

These shots show a very faithful translation of the cult cartoon series. It's so literal I'm afraid the movie might come off as campy. I mean, check out that hilarious wig on Emile Hirsch as Speed!

But then again, who can resist a movie with a chimp? (Chim Chim is his name, in case you can't recall.)
