In case you haven't heard, there's a new movie coming next year starring The Joker. Apparently it's called The Dark Knight. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of Batman in the flick.
Of course, I jest. But that's how it seems.
Everything coming out of Warner Bros. right now for The Dark Knight is all about The Joker. The new teaser poster for the movie is no different (see below). At this rate, the final poster will have more Heath Ledger than Christian Bale.
In case you have about a week's worth of time to kill, there are also about 20 viral web sites being used to push the 2008 film. The new teaser poster comes from one of these sites (click on the first Joker card). Here is a rundown of the sites known at the time of this posting:
- The Gotham Times
- The Ha Ha Ha Times
- We Are The Answer
- Gothan National Bank
- Gotham Police
- Gotham City Rail
- Remembering Gina
- Why So Serious
- Rory's Death Kiss
- Gotham United School District
- Gotham Cab
- ACME Security Systems
- Gotham Victims Advocate Foundation
- Internal Affairs Division of Gotham Police
- St. Swithuns Catholic Church
- Betty's House of Pies
- I Believe In Harvey Dent
- I Believe In Harvey Dent Too
I sure hope Warner Bros. got a bulk discount on all those domain name registrations.
Oh, yeah, there's also the "official" site at thedarkknight.com. If you are trying to make sense of all these crazy viral sites for the movie, the go-to source seems to be The Dark Knight Unofficial Movie Blog.
I don't know about you, but I'm already getting tired from all this Joker -- er, I mean Batman -- movie hype. The Dark Knight doesn't arrive in theaters until July 18.
