Seth Rogen as Green Hornet?

According to the L.A. Times and SlashFilm, Sony has hired Seth Rogen to write and star in a big screen adaptation of the comic book The Green Hornet. Yes, that's Seth Rogen of this Summer's smash hit Knocked Up.

The Green Hornet is one of those movies that have started and stopped numerous times in the past, most recently, the rumors had Kevin Smith on board as writer/director. Smith backed away from the project when he became unsure about directing such a special effects-laden movie.

So, there is hope that this is just a really late April Fool's Day joke, but something tells me that this one will stick. I wonder who will be his Kato? I'm almost afraid to ponder that question.
