MTV Movie Awards snags Silverman

Sure, Sarah Silverman's fellow namesake is making a comeback thanks to his new TV show In Case of Emergency, but Sarah is still the Silverman to get for MTV when it announced that she would be hosting their annual MTV Movie Awards.

That wasn't the only good news about the annual awards show alternative to the Oscars. In surprising news considering the newly-named host's penchant for a potty mouth, MTV also disclosed that the Awards ceremony would be telecast live on June 3rd. Traditionally, the MTV Movie Awards would tape one weekend, all the winners would leak out and then MTV would play it non-stop for the next two months.

But this time, much to the chagrin of the FCC and bleep button operators everywhere, MTV is going live. But, they're not going it alone. No, they've brought in reality TV icon Mark Burnett to handle the producing duties this year. Can you say a Probst appearance?

And if that still wasn't enough, MTV announced that it would be turning over the reigns of their long-standing movie spoofs to regular joes. Yes, that's right, now you can use assets from some of Hollywood's top movies in the last year to create your own MTV Movie Awards spoof. Heck, MTV is even giving out an award to the best one. No word on Andy Dick's availability though.

The buckets of golden popcorn will be handed out on June 3rd.
