More Axel for Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy has signed on to bring Axel Foley back from the dead (the 1980s) in Beverly Hills Cop IV. The fast-talking cop from Detroit who pals around with Judge Reinhold while solving a crime or two in Beverly Hills will be invading the land of liposuction at least one more time.

After Beverly Hills Cop III tanked at the box office, it seemed that Foley's badge was permanently revoked. However, Paramount is hoping that bringing in uber-producer Lorenzo de Bonaventura will breathe some life into the franchise.

Details are fresh and sketchy at best, but Axel Foley should be wearing his Detroit Lions jacket sometime in 2008.
