'Dallas' takes a mulligan

A big-screen adaptation of the TV drama Dallas was set to begin filming next month, but now the start has been delayed and the cast has been ditched. John Travolta was set in the role of J.R. Ewing, while Luke Wilson and Shirley MacLaine were cast as Bobby Ewing and Miss Ellie respectively.

Travolta is the only one retained and director Gurinder Chadha is still attached but will only stay on the project if she approves of the cast. The studio is hoping to start filming in January.
