While doing publicity for his supporting role in Disney's The Shaggy Dog, itself a remake, Robert Downey Jr. had a very interesting idea for a remake. In a video interview for web site IESB.net, the actor said it would be a good idea to do a remake of 1985's Weird Science.
Yes, Weird Science. The John Hughes-directed teen comedy where the geeky Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith create their dream woman (Kelly LeBrock) using a computer. Remember that Downey Jr. played the bullying Ian alongside Robert Rusler's Max. (Downey got the character names switched when he mentioned them during the interview.)
"Good luck digging John Hughes out of Chicago [to do a film]. He's happily secluded," Downey said.
Of course a remake would be a good idea! Instead of creating a girlfriend on their computer, Gary and Wyatt can download one from the internet.
