Our predictions for the 10 biggest movies of 2006

It's 2006. It's the promise of a new year and a new slate of big movies.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith was the top of the box office heap in 2005. What will be the big film for this new year? We make our picks for the top 10 biggest money-earners for '06.
- Superman Returns - It doesn't matter that it's a newcomer (Brandon Routh) as the Man of Steel. Superman is still Superman. And he's going to be the strongest, fastest, and highest-grossing at the box office.
- The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown's blockbuster novel is a blockbuster movie directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks. The only question mark for its success is the controversy that will most likely follow.
- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - The original was the box office surprise of 2003. The sequel will be another thrill ride.
- Mission: Impossible III - Tom Cruise has big expectations this year -- a new baby with Katie Holmes and a big new movie. Tom's weirdness will keep this sequel out of the top five.
- Cars - The minds at Pixar will do it again. Much like 2005's Madagascar, it will be the sole animated film in the top 10.
- X-Men 3 - Comic fans are eagerly anticipating this latest in the X-Men franchise. There's lots of new heroes and villains from the book, including a blue Kelsey Grammer.
- Casino Royale - The blond Bond Daniel Craig's first appearance as 007. Curiosity will bring fans to this cinema staple.
- Poseidon - A remake of The Poseidon Adventure features a big cast. It surely won't sink at the box office but it won't be a Titanic either.
- Lady in the Water - M. Night Shyamalan's next tale of suspense. Its lighter storyline should make it more accessible. Plus, Paul Giamatti is always great.
- The Fountain - Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz star in director Darren Aronofsky's bizarre sci-fi drama. It could flow green at theaters or it could be a Solaris-sized bomb.
