Taryn Manning says her JetBlue ordeal was 'surreal'

Actress Taryn Manning was one of the 140 passengers on JetBlue flight 292 that made an emergency landing at LAX when their plane had landing gear problems.

"When we saw our plane on TV as 'breaking news' ... it was the most surreal, out-of-body experience I ever had," Manning told late night talk show host Craig Ferguson on Thursday. JetBlue planes have satellite TVs installed into the headrests and played the breaking news of their peril for three hours while the plane circled southern California dumping and burning fuel in preparation for their emergency landing.

The actress whose films include Hustle & Flow, 8 Mile and Cold Mountain said that she took the time to write a note to her family. "I just composed a little something so that if anything happened they would know that our last goodbye wasn't on the phone."
