Is Quentin going to 'Kill Jason'?

In a match of pop culture present meeting pop culture past, rumors are spreading quickly online that Kill Bill helmer Quentin Tarantino is close to coming on board as writer and director for The Ultimate Jason Voorhees. Jason Voorhees is the maniacal, indestructible serial killer who likes to target promiscuous teens at his favorite Summer hang out Camp Crystal Lake in the Friday the 13th movies.

Jason was last on the loose in 2003's Freddy vs. Jason, an unexpected box office killer, and was set to dust off the hockey mask for the sequel Freddy vs. Jason 2, but delays may for it the back burner in favor of Tarantino's treatment. Considering that Jason has been to Manhattan, Hell and Space as of late, Quentin will have his hands full coming up with fresh material.

But, if there's one guy that should take a stab at Jason, Tarantino's the man. If Quentin does indeed come on board and production begins later this year, Jason could be slaugtering the competition next Halloween.
