Lindsay Lohan joins 'Prairie Home Companion' cast

According to showbiz news show Entertainment Tonite, teen star and search engine favorite Lindsay Lohan has been cast in A Prairie Home Companion, a film based on the public radio performances of Garrison Keillor.

Lohan joins the cast for director Robert Altman which already features Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin. Lindsay will play Streep's daughter in the film. Musicians-turned-actors Lyle Lovett and Tom Waits will do a little of both in the movie about a small-town radio station. Keillor will also appear in the film. George Clooney has been rumored for the cast as well.

Filming is scheduled to begin in April.
