Round 2 goes to Eastwood

In keeping with the theme of his movie, Clint Eastwood is floating like a butterfly and stinging (Martin Scorsese mostly) like a bee. Saturday night, Clint took home the top honors at the 57th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards, besting a field that contained most of his Oscar competition including Scorsese.

In keeping with the boxing theme of Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby, Martin Scorsese is going to need a Rocky-esque comeback to dig out of his 0-2 hole after losing the Golden Globe to Clint before Saturday's setback. But, in true underdog fashion, a win at next month's Academy Awards for Scorsese would be a reversal of history as only six directors who won the top DGA prize failed to capture the Oscar.
