George Lucas revealed the title of the final Star Wars prequel on Saturday. Episode III will be known as "Revenge of the Sith."

The announcement was made by LucasFilm's nerd liaison -- um, I mean fan relations chief -- Steve Sansweet at San Diego's big Comic-Con show. Lucas himself was not in attendance. Sansweet pulled off the baseball jersey he was wearing to reveal a black t-shirt underneath with the title.

Initial reaction amongst the fan community was positive. Especially since it harkens back to the original trilogy, specifically Return of the Jedi. In fact, 'Revenge of the Jedi' was an early, working title for Episode VI.

The Sith are the evil, anti-Jedi, those who bow to the Dark Side of the Force. In this final act, protagonist Anakin Skywalker will fall from the side of the Jedi to join the Sith, becoming Darth Vader.

Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith will hit theaters on May 19, 2005.
