'Chocolate Factory' opens for business

Warner Bros. announced today that production has begun on Tim Burton's version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Starring Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka, the eccentric owner the chocolate factory, the new version of the Roald Dahl classic promises to be a darker version that is more faithful to the book than 1971's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will hit theaters in mid to late 2005.
