Jodie Foster Takes A Little Cannes Curtness

Jodie Foster got a little payback from the French recently, as they ignored her Cannes Film Festival entry.

Everyone was looking forward to the debut of 'The Dangerous Lives Of Altar,' Ms. Foster's movie about a group of parachial school students who create an naughty comic book (a bit taboo in 1974 Georgia). But the film was a no show.

By rejecting her movie, the French believe they have even the score with the Anna And The King star. If you remember, Jodie was elected President of the festival's jury and then resigned from her post shortly afterwards.

One source told the press, "The French considered offering the position to Foster as an olive branch to the Hollywood studios, who have been reluctant to show films in Cannes in recent years. The were insulted when she backed out, even if it was to accept a $12 million acting gig. So they ditched her film."
