John Malkovich joins 'Potter' cast

Harry Potter has scored another casting coup. It's being reported today that acting icon John Malkovich has joined the cast of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Malkovich will play villain Lord Voldemort in his first human incarnation in the series. Voldemort has appeared in each of the previous Harry Potter installments in spirit form only. In The Goblet of Fire, Voldemort starts out as a skeleton before taking human form towards the end of the movie.

Harry Potter fans have Malkovich's children to thank for the brilliant casting move. Amandine, 13, and Lowrie, 12, begged their father to take the part in their favorite series of books/movies.

The Goblet of Fire started filming this week and will be in theaters in late 2005.
