Stars shun limos for Oscars

While ABC is promoting this year's incarnation of the Academy Awards as a return to the glitz of years past, several stars are making a conscious decision to play down the glamour.

Several celebrities will pass on the standard limo for the environmentally friendly Toyota Prius. The prius is hybrid car powered by both gasoline and electricity.

Will Ferrell, who owns a Prius, adds "In addition to being obviously economical and environmentally friendly, they drive great and are just plain sexy"

Even 13-year-old Best Actress nominee Keisha Castle-Hughes is in on the act. "Even though I am not old enough to drive, I am old enough to know that the environment is in danger. By taking a hybrid car to the Oscars, I can show my support for helping the environment."

The 76th Annual Academy Awards show is this upcoming Sunday at 8:00 PM eastern.
