Russell Crowe says no to Oscar

Even before being nominated, actor Russell Crowe has made it clear that he will not be attending this year's Academy Awards show. And no, it's not to avoid negative publicity surrounding his tendency to get into fights at these things. Russell is planning on spending the night with his wife and soon-to-be born son.

The actor is a frontrunner to be nominated for his powerful turn in Master And Commander. Danielle Spencer, Crowe's wife, is due in January 2004. The 76th Academy Awards show is set for February 29, 2004.
