Holy 'Psycho,' Batman!

Last week, we reported that film producers had narrowed their list of actors to portray Batman in the latest incarnation of the franchise. Today, Warner Bros. announced that Christian Bale has been chosen to don the cape, tights and codpiece.

Bale is best known for portraying serial killer Patrick Bateman in 2000's American Psycho. His other film credits include Reign Of Fire, Shaft, Velvet Goldmine and Empire Of The Sun.

Batman 5 is set to begin principal photography in February with a planned tentpole release in the Summer of 2005.
