Actors going 'Bat'ty over new role

The role of Batman is approching James Bond territory. Word out of Warner Bros. indicates that director Christopher Nolan will be testing potential caped crusaders this week for the coveted role in the fifth installment of the successful franchise.

Among those vying for the keys to the bat cave are Jake Gyllenhaal, Christian Bale, Joshua Jackson, Eion Bailey, Cillian Murphy and Henry Cavill. This will be the fourth actor to don the tights and codpiece in five films.

Batman 5 is scheduled to start filming in February with a target release date of Summer 2005.
