I wouldn't feel bad for Warner Bros. when their Matrix franchise comes to an end later this year, they've got a couple of cards up their sleeve. One of their most promising properties is a big screen remake of The Dukes Of Hazzard TV show.

Even though the project is still in the script stage, Hollywood's best and brightest upcoming stars are circling the project like vultures around a car wreck. The latest word puts Ashton Kutcher and Paul Walker in the lead roles as fast driving cousins. It would seem that with Paul's driving experience from the Fast And The Furious films, he'd be a no brainer for the role.

Other interesting whispers include pop princess Britney Spears in the highly coveted role of Daisy Duke and an interesting casting angle that finds Anthony Anderson as Boss Hogg.

My guess is that if this happens, the film will conveniently leave out Boss Hogg's real first and middle names (Jefferson Davis). Although speaking of controversy, there are indications that the studio may nix the General Lee's trademark Confederate flag under the auspices of political correctness. Hmm...what's next? Hazzard County will mysteriously relocate to the greater Los Angeles area?
