Angelina Jolie sat down with Barbara Walters for a telling interview to be broadcast on ABC's "20/20". The 28-year-old Oscar winner gave insight into her brief marriage and her bizarre past.

Yes, I said, "past". The theme of the interview is that Jolie is a changed woman. The transformation, she says, is the result of her adoption of a baby boy from Cambodia.

During the interview -- which is well-timed with the July 25 release of Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life -- she also discusses her marriage and subsequent divorce with Billy Bob Thornton. "We became very different people, and I wouldn't know what to talk to him about," she said.

Her wild marriage with Billy Bob included tattoos of each other's names (which she had removed from her arm) and pendants of one another's blood.

Angelina also described other events during her wacky past including a bisexual fling. She said she was "surprised when I suddenly found myself having these feelings I always had for men, but for a woman, and wanting to kiss her and wanting to touch her."

Her youth sounds more like the Addams Family when she mentions she had desires to enter the funeral business. Angelina also had a youthful fascination with knives and self-mutilation. Jolie mentioned, in high school, she once cut herself during sex, just for enjoyment.

But as we mentioned before, that is the past. She said, "I think when you make a decision to have a child, you cannot think about suicide again and you can't be self-destructive."

Agreed, but this all seems like a well-deserved image change for the sake of the box office and career longevity?

The complete Barbara Walters interview with Jolie airs Friday on ABC.
