Brits love movies almost as much as we Americans. They also have a fondness for American actors apparently. In a poll conducted by UK television station Channel 4, six of the top ten named were U.S.-born thespians. The incomparable Al Pacino was number one according to the 25,000 British voters.

Following Pacino were Robert De Niro, Tom Hanks, Kevin Spacey, Harrison Ford, and Jack Nicholson. The top England-born actor was Anthony Hopkins at number seven. Scotsmen Sean Connery and Ewan McGregor and UK-born Cary Grant rounded out the top ten.

The list was dominated by males with only 10 of the top 50 slots going to women. Audrey Hepburn was the top female at 13.

Here is the top half. For the full list, visit the Channel 4 site.
