We've officially arrived at the proverbial crunch time for Warner Bros. and Superman. With production scheduled to start in May in order to hit their intended Summer 2004 release, you'd think that the producers would've selected their new Man of Steel by now.
Well, the good news is that they're one step closer to that casting. It's being reported in various corners of cyberspace that Paul Walker has taken himself out of contention, apparently balking at the seven year commitment to play Clark Kent. That leaves only two public candidates for the role, Brendan Fraser and Matthew Bomer.
Fraser would be seen as the favorite with his "box office power" garnered from such hits as Dudley Do-Right and George Of The Jungle. Although, soap star Bomer is reported to be director Brett Ratner's top choice since he favors an unknown in the part.
