'Life's' About To Be A 'Picnic' For Jena Malone

Talented young actress Jena Malone isn't sitting on her laurels waiting for Hollywood to come to her. The 16-year-old actress who recently won emancipation from her mother is set to star in Lifers' Picnic, a small independent movie that revolves around a girl who visits her father in prison on the one day of the year set aside for a picnic.

The standout star of such pictures as Contact and Stepmom has been showing greater interest in the independent scene of late. She was scene rubbing elbows with the independent elite at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
