'Wonder Twins' To Trans-Substantiate Onto Big Screen

Perhaps, Brodie Bruce hit the nail on the head in Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back, "When X-Men hit it big on the big screen, movie studios bought every comic property they could get their grimy little hands on." Seeming to prove him right, Warner announced this week that they're moving forward on plans to make a live-action adaptation of the "Wonder Twins."

In case, you repressed them out of your childhood memory like I did, the "Wonder Twins" were "superheroes" from the planet Exxor (hmm, I wonder if Exxon was an advertising partner of 'The Super Friends Hour') who derived their super powers from their special twin bond. When they held hands and said "Wonder Twin Powers, Activate" Zan gained the power to turn into any water-based form, while his sister Jayna could become any animal. They also had "typical" twin powers like the ability to communicate telepathically and own exotic animals. Their blue monkey Gleek had a penchant for getting into troublesome situations. And while they didn't have a "Bat Signal" to keep them in touch with society, they did share Batman's love for gadgets as both of the twins wore Teen Trouble Alerts (read: Superhero pager) that allowed teens to contact them directly.

No details have surfaced on the casting, although the idea of dressing one of the Olsen twins in drag is something that I'm warming up to. And to further quote Mr. Bruce, "And on that note, cue the music."
