Steve Martin Already Volunteers For 2003 Oscars

After Whoopi's grand entrance and jokes that made only her laugh, comedian Steve Martin put his name in the hat to host next year's biggest night in Hollywood.

The Jerk hosted last year's but unfortunately turned down the opportunity this year.

He says, "I thought it was a good show. I really enjoyed it. I would like to do it again. The problem with doing it is when you accept in December to do it in March, that's all you can think about, so you don't have a life. It's very nerve-wracking."

Mr. Martin loves it though. "It's something I've done a lot, performing in front of people. But, on the other hand, it's something you've never done. It's strange to look out at an audience of celebrities and think, 'Oh, it's my friends.'"
