'Raiders Of The Lost Ark' To Debut On Family-Friendly DVD!!

Paramount Pictures and Steven Spielberg announced today that the wait is finally over. Indiana Jones is finally coming to DVD.

Following in the footsteps of E.T., Spielberg plans to go back and digitally enhance the appearance of all three movies. While Spielberg didn't get into specifics about the changes, he did reveal that he's always thought that Indy's whip was too violent for a family film. With the miracle of digital filmmaking, Indy's whip could easily be altered into a less threatening device, like a feather or a can of silly string.

The Special Edition version of Raiders Of The Lost Ark is due to hit theaters in October, with Temple Of Doom set to follow three weeks later and finally, The Last Crusade will bow just after Thanksgiving. All three movies will be available on DVD early next year.
