Owners of the struggling "Arthur Hurry" dance studio, Stan and Ollie have only one paying customer, socialite Trudy Harlan. Trudy's boyfriend is Grant Lawrence (Robert Bailey), an aspiring inventor who has created a new kind of flame thrower, but he lacks the money to market it. In a misguided attempt to help Grant, Ollie remembers an insurance policy he had taken out on Stan, so he arranges an accident involving Stan so they can get a big settlement. The plan results in a crazy bus ride, and ends up with Ollie breaking his own leg. THE DANCING MASTERS is a hilarious must-see, with an appearance by a very young Robert Mitchum in an uncredited role as an insurance racketeer.
