Here's the story on beloved children's author Uncle Bumps: he hates kids and loves women, booze and high living. So when a prim miss threatens to blow the whistle on his career, he comes up with a new story to excuse his naughty behavior: he's a grieving widower with an obstreperous son. Now all he needs is a quick trip to the local orphanage to borrow a freckle-faced orphan for the day! In the third of their five co-starring films, off-screen pals Van Johnson and June Allyson go wacky in The Bride Goes Wild. The stars' breezy camaraderie sparks a giddy romantic comedy that fizzes merrily along under the sure hand of Oscar -winning* director Norman Taurog. Will Uncle Bumps's story have a happy ending? You bet!
