Director

He's good enough, he's smart enough and doggone it, people like him! He's Stuart Smalley (Al Franken), and he's bringing his nutty New Age act to the big screen in a heartwarming comedy that's "flat-out amazing" (F.X. Feeney, L.A. Weekly) Stuart's "shame spiral" begins when his cable-access show, Daily Affirmation With Stuart Smalley, is abruptly canceled. Then Stuart's favorite aunt dies, sending him home to his co-dependent mother, alcoholic dad, pot-smoking brother and overeating sister. But there's a big heart beating underneath that loud cardigan sweater, and with the help of his best friend and Al-Anon sponsor (Laura San Giacomo), Stuart takes on the armies of denial that threaten his family and future. Get with the program and enjoy the movie that puts the fun back in dysfunctional! Based on the book by Al Franken, inspired by his recurring Saturday Night Live sketch from the 1990s. Directed by Harold Ramis (CADDYSHACK, GROUNDHOG DAY).

Rated PG-13.
