Jay Roth, an ambitious car salesman, dreams to one day own his own dealership. The "A" Plate or dealer plate is the ultimate badge of honor for anyone who owns a dealership. Unfortunately, Jay's boss Dick Stevens refuses him a partnership. When Dick's wife Candice catches him having an affair, she vows to divorce him and take everything he's got. Jay sees the opportunity and must follow the sleazy unwritten code of the car business to see his dream come true. While scheming up alliances with both Dick and Candice, Jay meets Dick's beautiful daughter Andrea.
