Laurel and Hardy.
Abbott and Costello.
Comedy teams are as integral a part of movies as film itself. It seems that every generation has their own favorite team. My parents loved Lemmon and Mathau and Wilder and Pryor, while I have been more partial to Spade and Farley and Pegg and Frost.
But there's a new comedy team that might put them all to shame when it comes to longevity and the number of times they've appeared together and that's James Franco and Seth Rogen. The pair have already teamed up for five films and there's another two already in production.
The best friends don't show any signs of slowing down either.
While you could expand the group out to create a modern day "Pot Pack" ala the "Rat Pack" or "Brat Pack" by including their co-stars from Knocked Up or This is the End, Franco and Rogen are the comedic heart of this comedy team. This is never more evident than in the upcoming film The Interview where the duo get to showcase their comic chops and friendship in a film that looks like a modern day retelling of Spies Like Us.
We loved Spies Like Us, so it's all good in our book. Check out the first trailer for the film below. The Interview hits theaters on October 10.
